The majority of Poles support the abortion protests but the numbers are lower than in November 2020, the latest poll by Kantar research firm has shown.
According to the survey, 61 percent were in favour of the protests, which have been widespread in Poland following a Constitutional Tribunal ruling that has led to a virtual ban on abortion in Poland.
The total was 9 percentage points (pps) lower than in a November poll, while 30 percent were against the protests, up by 5 pps, and 4 percent said they were “undecided.”
Eleven percent of the respondents said they had taken part in protests, 2 pps less than in November, 4 percent of all participants had been on several demonstrations while 7 percent had demonstrated only once.
Half of the respondents declared their support for Women’s Strike, the organisation behind the protests, 7 pps less than in November.
Kantar conducted the survey between February 5-10 on a representative sample of 1,012 residents of Poland aged 18 and over using the Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) technique.
