Almost 545,000 teachers registered for vaccination against COVID-19, including some 277,000 signed up in the second round. Among them are almost 63,000 academic teachers, the Ministry of Education and Science announced on Saturday.

Every teacher from a school or institution, as well as academic teachers and other persons conducting classes at universities, born from January 1, 1956 to December 31, 2003, could apply for vaccination.

The spokeswoman for the Ministry, Anna Ostrowska, recalled that the first round of enrolment, which began on February 8 and ended on February 10, included teachers of schools and educational institutions up to the age of 60. At that time, 268,000 people applied for the vaccination.

In turn, during the second round, teachers and academic teachers up to 65 years of age could register.

Vaccinations are carried out with AstraZeneca’s preparation. They started on February 12. On Thursday, the ministry of education and science reported that nearly 65,000 teachers have been inoculated so far.

Teachers, academics and other academics born in 1955 and earlier will be able to get vaccinated at a later date.
