Internet use in Poland may soon outgrow capacity: report

Poland will have to upgrade its telecommunications infrastructure by 2020 in order to cope with growing use of the internet, the Gazeta Polska Codziennie daily has reported.

According to the paper, Poles are transferring an increasing amount of data online, and the country’s internet infrastructure might run out of spare capacity next year.

A study quoted by the daily said that 90 percent of Poles still have no access to broadband internet, the worst result in the European Union.

The paper also said that limited access to the internet makes using public services, including education and healthcare, more difficult for many Poles.
