
Retail sales in Poland rose 4.7 percent in December compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Tuesday.
Sales of fuels climbed 10.7 percent in year-on-year terms, while sales of furniture, household appliances and consumer electronics rose 9.2 percent.
Sales of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics increased by 8 percent.
In real terms, retail sales in December were 3.9 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to the statistics office.
In month-on-month terms, retail sales in December were 12.9 percent higher than in November, the Central Statistical Office reported.
