Polish industrial production up 2.8% y/y in December: stats office

Industrial production in Poland grew 2.8 percent in December compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Friday.

Industrial production last month was 11.5 percent lower than in November, the statistical office reported.

Meanwhile, output in the construction-and-assembly sector rose by 12.2 percent in December in year-on-year terms, while shooting up by 21.8 percent month on month, the office said.

Polish President Andrzej Duda in August signed into law a measure aiming to speed up the construction of new homes amid a housing shortage.
