Polish agriculture can become the driving force of economic growth: PM

The Polish agricultural sector can become the driving force of the country’s economic growth, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Wednesday.

“I cannot imagine a Polish economy which is strong without a strong Polish agricultural sector… Polish agriculture, Polish rural areas, not only have a big future, a huge chance to be very well developed, but they can be a driver of economic growth in Poland,” Morawiecki told farmers.

During a meeting in Głogowo, north-central Poland, Morawiecki said: “We do not have to sell our products at minimal margins.”

He added that a price stabilisation mechanism was needed.
