Volkswagen планирует запустить Производство калифорнийской модели XXL на своем заводе в Вжесне (Западная Польша), сообщил Генеральный директор Volkswagen Poznan Йенс Оксен.
The new concept camper van was launched at the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon trade fair in late August and early September 2017. The new XXL version of the California was also shown in Poland, at the Poznań Motor Show 2018 in April.
“The decision to start production of the camper van in Września was taken in the last few days. The first four prototypes of the California XXL model are already in our plant,” Ocksen told PAP.
It is still not known when the camper van production will start in Poland. “I think that it is just a question of a few months. We estimate we will produce 2,000 vehicles per year,” said the CEO of the Volkswagen plant in Poland.
The height of the vehicle is 2.9 metres (2.2 m internally) and a width is over 2 metres. The interior contains a bedroom with a full-size bed, as well as a children’s bedroom above the driver’s cabin, a kitchen, a bathroom with toilet and a driver’s cabin connected to the interior. The living-space length of the new vehicle has been extended to over 6.2 metres.
Volkswagen Poznań is a plant manufacturing commercial vehicles and components. The concern has four factories in the Wielkopolskie province (west-central Poland).
