Lufthansa launches new connection from Katowice to Munich

Lufthansa has launched a new connection between Katowice Airport in southern Poland and the German city of Munich.

The route will be operated daily by Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft, which can take up to 90 business- and economy-class passengers on board.

Artur Tomasik, the CEO of the Upper Silesian Aviation Group, which operates Katowice Airport, said that the airport authorities had been trying to launch a connection to Munich for years.

He said that the new flights were good news for businessmen, pointing out that Munich airport is an important transfer hub enabling travellers to reach destinations across the world.

Katowice Airport is an international facility located in Pyrzowice, some 30 km north of Katowice.
