GUS: unemployment drops to record November low

The unemployment rate of 8.2 percent in November was a record low for the month, Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Friday. The rate has not changed since the previous month, in line with analyst forecasts.

“Currently unemployment is at its lowest in 25 years,” Stanisław Szwed, deputy Minister for Family, Labour and Social Policy, said.

He added that in some cities unemployment is as low as two or three percent.

At the end of November, 1,313,000 people were registered as unemployed in Poland, 14.2 percent fewer than in November 2015.
