Twenty-three galleries from around the world and more than 20 international artists are coming to Warsaw for the Friend of a Friend modern art project this April.
The initiative aims to bring to Warsaw international artists, some of whom have never been shown in Poland before, and to give international curators, collectors, journalists, and art lovers a glimpse of the local modern art scene.
“As a result, shared exhibitions of modern art will be set up with the participation of Polish and international artists,” said Ewa Borysiewicz of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, one of the event’s organisers.
Eight Warsaw galleries will share their exhibition spaces with guests from Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, The Hague, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York, Paris, Prague, Vienna and Zürich.
The event starts on April 7 and all exhibitions will be open until April 28.
